Creating ProductView Representations of Simplified Reps from Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 2.0

All Pro/ENGINEER files that are stored in Windchill PDMLink can have ProductView representations stored as well. Through the interface to these representations we can start to create different viewables based on how the data needs to be shown. We can publish either all simplified reps of a Pro/ENGINEER assembly or we can create a representation of a particular simplified rep of an assembly.

In order to create a representation of a specific simplified rep we will have to follow the below steps:

  • First from the Properties page of an assembly, choose on the representation link. (Figure 1)

  • At the representations page, choose to create a new representation (Figure 2). You will need to enter a name and description for the graphical representation you want to make. (Figure 3)

  • The next step is to choose what configuration of the files you would like to look at. (Figure 4)

  • On the next page you will need to give the exact name of the simplified rep you want to publish. (Figure 5)

  • Then the last step is to confirm the choices and submit the job. (Figure 6)

  • The resulting graphical representation based on a simplified rep will now show up in your list of Representations for that particular revision/iteration of the file. (Figure 7)

  • By choosing on the picture you will be brought to ProductView and only the simplified rep will be viewable from your viewing window. (Figure 8)

How to setup the worker to publish all simplified reps

  • By making the setting as in Figure 9 you can have all of the simplified reps of an assembly published as groups to the ProductView representation.

  • Figure 10 shows what you will see in ProductView. (Figure 10)
