ANSYS Discovery Live Changes Everything

Every engineer deserves the power of Discovery

ANSYS Discovery Live provides instantaneous 3D simulation, tightly coupled with direct geometry modeling, to enable interactive design exploration and rapid product innovation. It is an interactive experience in which you can manipulate geometry, materials types or physics inputs, then instantaneously see changes in performance.

Use Discovery Live to test more design iterations in a shorter amount of time, perform feasibility studies on new concepts and bring products to market faster.

ANSYS Discovery Live seamlessly aligns with the 3D Design family of products and complements ANSYS Discovery SpaceClaim and ANSYS Discovery AIM.

Interactive Geometry

Simulations update while editing geometry, giving you instant feedback.

In Discovery Live, near-instant simulation results appear once loads have been established. And, because Discovery Live is interactive, you can test several design ideas in a few seconds and receive immediate insight around the structural performance of a design.

Interactive Physics

Change physics inputs such as materials and loads, and gain immediate insight.

The engineering simulations are instantaneous as you change boundary conditions or make quick, 3D modeling changes. You can observe velocity, external forces, pressure, flow lines, particle flow and more to make physics-directed design decisions.

Interactive Results

Instantly change characteristics of results to find helpful trends.

Discovery Live’s simulation-guided design will accelerate your product development, help avoid delays, and ensure you are designing the best products possible.

Speed of Discovery Live

Instant feedback while removing traditional simulation bottlenecks.

With Discovery Live you can spend more time exploring questions and answers and less time negotiating traditional simulation processing steps. It provides real-time data on temperature distribution as you make 3-D model changes, or change input characteristics like heat flow and material type.

Simulate Rotating Bodies

Support for rotating walls and swirling inlets is included in this release. You can now more accurately account for symmetric, rotating objects such as fans and wheels, to better capture nearby pressures, temperatures and velocities.

When simulating an inlet with a rotating fan as its source, for example, you can specify not only a linear velocity but also an angular velocity. These and other Discovery Live improvements will help you mirror real-world conditions to make sure your simulation results are more meaningful.

Parameter Study

ANSYS 19.2 includes new features and functionality that enable engineers to solve CFD problems with more accuracy than ever before, especially for phenomena that were too difficult or time-consuming to simulate using previous methods.

One major enhancement is the further automation between design iterations and simulations, which are even easier because of the addition of parametric studies. Now you can explore a large number of design possibilities by varying multiple geometric or simulation parameters. By interactively determining optimized values and better understanding tradeoffs and trends, you can select the best design for your needs.
