New Features of Mathcad Prime 11

Mathcad Prime 11 – Application Updates
PTC Mathcad Prime 11 introduces several updates to application-level functionality, including important features requested by users.
- Manual Calculation Mode: Users can now choose when to calculate the worksheet, either recalculating the entire worksheet or only updating relevant regions up to the page currently in view.
- Custom Unit Systems: Customize the behavior of a unit system with increased flexibility and control over the worksheet’s unit system.
- Result Threshold Formatting: Set thresholds for exponential, complex, and zero results.
- Binary, Octal, and Hexadecimal Support: Perform calculations and format results in these number systems.
- Region Borders: Toggle borders for regions in the worksheet.
- Python for Advanced Controls: Use Python scripting for advanced controls, in addition to VBScript and JScript (first introduced in Mathcad Prime 10).
Mathcad Prime 11 – Engine Enhancements
- New decomp Keyword: Decompose large symbolic expressions for easier analysis
- New vec and IsRange Functions: Create vectors and determine if a variable is of a range datatype
- Solve Block Improvements: Enhanced support for scaling objective functions and constraints and expanded CTOL settings
- Plot processing improvements for 2D plots
- Symbolic Calculation Improvements: Improved performance for symbolic calculations, including the keyword simplify and calculus operators
Mathcad Prime 11 – Usability Updates
- Simplified Insert Image: Streamline insertion of images into the worksheet
- Convert Password-Protected Areas: Convert areas in legacy worksheets that are password protected and collapsed
- Radio Button Selected by Default: Radio button from Advanced Controls now has preselected choices for improved clarity
- Slider Invert and Min/Max Properties: New option to invert slider points and display min/max values on slider control
- Page Number Format: New page number formats for headers and footers
